Yes, we offer a full 10-year guarantee on all products and workmanship, with the exception of integral blinds, which carry a 5-year guarantee. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for further details, which are available on our website.

Yes — Matthews & Peart do have a showroom. We have a new showroom at their premises on the Battlefield Enterprise Park, Shrewsbury, where we display a variety of window and door designs (uPVC, aluminium, etc.).

Long-standing history / local roots

  • The company has been operating since 1961, so they’ve been in the trade for over 60 years.
  • It’s family-run (now in its second and third generation), which often suggests more personal investment in reputation and quality.

Credentials, accreditations & guarantees

  • They are FENSA registered, so their window & door replacements comply with building regulations.
  • They hold other accreditations (for example, being a Solidor approved installer for composite doors).
  • Their products/installations come with a 10-year guarantee. That gives customers more peace of mind.

In-house workmanship

  • They employ their own highly skilled installers/fitting team instead of relying heavily on subcontractors. This helps with quality control and accountability.

Quality of products & suppliers

  • They source from “trusted suppliers” and use premium materials (uPVC, aluminium, etc.), offering high thermal efficiency, secure fittings, and weatherproofing.
  • They also offer a variety of design and customisation options.

Transparent pricing & customer service approach

  • They emphasise that they offer competitive prices and try to avoid hidden charges.
  • They don’t use sales representatives in the sense of high-pressure selling or cold calls. Instead, customers are visited by senior people (for instance, the owner or senior staff) after pre arranged appointments.

Visible customer feedback

  • There are many customer testimonials and reviews. Many people praise them for professionalism of installers, quality of workmanship, and clean/tidy work. E.g. from Google reviews.

Range of services and being full-service

    • They don’t just do windows & doors; they also do glass repairs, emergency boarding up, conservatories, secondary glazing, and various material choices.

Please get in contact via our online form, by telephone, or by email, all of which are available on our website.

We offer a wide variety of windows and doors, including storm casement, flush casement, and low-sightline windows in both uPVC and aluminium.

Here are the main indicators your double glazing needs replacing:

  • Condensation or Moisture Between Panes
  • Draughts or Poor Insulation
  • Difficulty Opening or Closing Windows
  • Visible Damage
  • Increased Noise

Humidity Inside the Home: Everyday activities (cooking, showering, drying clothes) add moisture to indoor air. If ventilation is poor, this humidity builds up and leads to condensation.

Temperature Difference: In colder weather, windows get chilled from the outside. If the indoor air is warm and moist, condensation will form when it hits the cold glass surface.

Poor Insulation/Single-Pane Windows: Older or single-pane windows don’t insulate well, so they’re more likely to be cold and attract condensation.

Air Leaks: Gaps around windows can let colder air in and warm air escape, causing a temperature drop on the glass.

Window Treatments: Heavy curtains or blinds can trap moist air against the cold window surface.

This depends on the product being installed and the complexity of the installation, but in most houses, 4-6 windows can be fitted per day. If sash windows are being installed, then only 2 would be installed each day.

Matthews & Peart have been trading since 1961, and we are still owned and run by the 2nd and 3rd generation family members.

All our products are made to measure to our customers’ exact requirements. Initial measurements are taken for quotation purposes. Then, if the customer wishes to proceed, a second visit is arranged to take accurate measurements for fabrication and to confirm the customer’s exact specification and requirements. This also gives both parties opportunities to ask any questions. We find this avoids any issues further down the line and means both completely understand what is required of them.
